Japanese watercolours (gansai tambi) on paper, c.17.1cm x 12.7cm

This painting of a garden scene captures seasonal transition, when trees unburden themselves of their yellowing leaves and display fragments of autumn sky through their branches. I painted it in Japanese watercolours because of their ethereal translucency and special ability to convey atmosphere.
