Portrait of me holding a copy of Pindar’s Olympian and Pythian victory odes; part of my ‘Men and Books’ series. Pindar was an Ancient Greek poet who composed works celebrating the great athletic victors of the 5th century BC and their patrons. I chose this book to hold because I studied his poetry for my PhD, and it reminds me of that time in my life.
