Oil painting of a bowl with a peeled satsuma

£795.00

Oil paint on paper, c.38.5cm x 30cm

This oil painting is part of a series in which I create imaginary ceramics with love poems as part of the design, inspired by 17th century tin-glazed earthenware.

The text says:

A lover’s gaze

Looks past the pith

And through the glaze

Since the satsuma and its peel are on top of the plate, the viewer’s gaze first passes the pith before reaching the glaze, and as such the poem places the viewer themselves in the position of the lover.

Price includes shipping worldwide (please note that customs fees may apply for items shipped outside the UK)
